Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
Happy New Year! I would like to extend well wishes to all for a happy and healthy new year. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and was able to relax and spend some quality time with your families. I had a relaxing break but am so excited to be back with all of the amazing Goshen Center School students, staff, and families!
Enrichment Clusters
Students and staff will soon gather again to learn about the next round of Clusters, which will begin on January 28th. We can’t wait!
Below are a few pictures of our first round.
Legos
Students built and created using their imaginations in the Lego enrichment cluster. Working with friends, they created Lego masterpieces.
Cultural dance
Students had a festive and lively time learning of traditional folk dances from around the world. The students danced many different dances for a very captive audience!
Quilt Making
Students learned how to use a sewing machine and worked with fabric to create a unique patchwork design. They shared their compassion for others by helping to warm the heart of another child as the beautiful blanket was donated to Project Linus, an organization which provides handcrafted blankets to children who need a bit of extra comfort.
CAS Music Award winners
The Connecticut Association of Schools ("CAS") Elementary Arts award is given to two students in the sixth grade who show outstanding ability in the performing or visual arts.
Goshen Center School is proud to announce Sorrel Reeves and Nolan Tutoro as this year's award winners.
Sorrel and Nolan's accomplishments in the arts include participation in the Inter-Elementary Jazz Band and both demonstrate insightful thinking and creativity in the visual arts. In addition, Sorrel exhibits enthusiasm towards learning, life, and her peers
and Nolan practices leadership through his role as Student Council President and demonstrates poise in all that he does.
