New Cell Phone Policy
As part of our focus on academic and healthy social development, we will be implementing our new cell phone policy starting this school year. We will require that cell phones must be OFF (no silent mode or vibrating mode) from the time they enter campus until 3:00 p.m. and kept in backpacks at all times. During PE, it is recommended that cell phones be secured in lockers instead of the backpack. If you need to get in touch with your child in the case of an emergency, please contact the office. If your child needs to contact you, they may use the office phone. If a student uses their cell phone during the school day, it will be confiscated and progressive discipline measures will be taken, including parent picking up the device from the office afterschool.
We hope this new cell phone policy will benefit our students both academically and social-emotionally. We thank you for your support in this new policy and we look forward to a new level of positive interaction on campus.
Progressive Behavior Response Policy:
1st offense: verbal warning
2nd offense: phone is confiscated and student picks it up from the office at the end of the school day
3rd offense: phone is confiscated and parent/guardian picks it up from the office at the end of the school day
4th offense: parent picks up phone from the office at the end of the day and schedules a meeting with the teacher/administrator
