Monday Reminder
New Schedule - ABAB starting November 4th
Our transition to a new schedule will be as follows:
Monday - Asynchronous
Tuesday - A Day
Wednesday - B Day
Thursday - A Day
Friday - B Day
This schedule will begin on November 4th, 2020 which is a Wednesday.
Senior Message and AP Information!
Second Senior Breakfast
We are looking forward to our second Senior Breakfast on November 9th. Amphora Catering have generously donated breakfast boxes for all the senior students attending.
This will be a Drive Through event 9-10am and we will be distributing Senior Tee Shirts. Please encourage your students to come along, in their masks to see their classmates in a safe environment.

Senior Dues
Senior Dues pay for graduation expenses and help fund activities for Senior students throughout the school year. Dues are $100 and can be paid at the payment portal on the school website. Here

AP Exams
AP Exam fees can be paid on the payment portal of the school website. Regular AP exams cost $86 until November 6th when there is a $40 late fee for each exam.
Exams will be taken in May and further information regarding testing can be found on the College Board website.
Please discuss with your student which exams they plan to take and ensure they have registered with College Board. See this latest statement from College Board to help with your decision making.

Rock Ridge Performing Arts!
Rock Ridge Performing Arts will be hosting a social distanced, mask mandatory, “Open Mic Night” on Thursday, November 5th from 6pm – 8pm. This open mic night is for current High School students only who are in RRPA or new to RRPA. Students will receive covid screenings upon arrival at the school, including temperature checks, and will be required to wear a mask at all time. No food or beverage will be served or shared.
Rock Ridge Performing Art’s production of TARZAN will stream November 3rd – November 8th. Bring the RRPA magic into your own home by re-watching on RRPA’s classics! Streaming passes can be purchased online at www.rockridgeperformingarts.org.
Athletics Information and Help Needed!
Athletics Update:
We are in need of two Rock Ridge Athletic Booster Club board members! Please contact patrick.mcnanley@lcps.org if interested!
All athletes must have the following complete to participate in conditioning:
- VHSL physical dated after 5/1/20
- Registration completed online at www.rockridgesports.us
- All athletes must complete the pre work out disclosure https://forms.gle/DLgMEQRva2McHm9W8 every day. Fill out the link on your way to school, we will take your temperature and then you will hit submit.
- All athletes will have a temperature screening prior to exiting car.
- All athletes will bring at least 32 ounces of water and a mask to participate.
- All drop offs will occur in the parking lot outside door D5 by the stadium.
Please either scan and email your VHSL physical form to patrick.mcnanley@lcps.org or bring when you come to condition.
During this preseason time frame you are welcome to go to as many different sports conditioning and practices that you wish.
**Boys Tennis will be on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.
**Girls Basketball will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. in the Aux Gym. ENTER THE BUILDING THROUGH DOOR D7 next to weight room.
**Cheer will meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. starting on 10/6/20.
**Boys Basketball will be on Mondays and Wednesday s at 4:30 p.m. in the Aux Gym. ENTER THE BUILDING THROUGH DOOR D7 next to weight room.
**Football will go on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 4:45 p.m.
**Field Hockey will go on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
**Boys and Girls Swim will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.
**Baseball will go on Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
**Track and Field will go on Tuesdays (Sprinters/Jumpers), Wednesdays (Throwers), and Thursdays (All Runners) at 4:30 p.m.
Counseling Updates!
We would like to welcome Mrs. Khattar. She is filling in for Mr. Taylor while he is out. She will work with Mr. Wareham and Mr. Terry to help students on Mr. Taylor’s caseload. Mrs. Khattar was part of the opening staff at Rock Ridge.

Cornell College
Cornell offers the One Course At A Time program:
Anyone who is able to mine their curiosity and truly explore the material at hand will succeed here. One of the best features of One Course At A Time is that it gives you the time and space to truly focus. Students can customize their fields of study.
Cornell College also offers a number of cooperative programs in which you spend three years at Cornell, followed by two years at one of our partner institutions to complete your program.

Seniors: This week we will process 1500 transcripts requests to be sent out to colleges. Please remember November and December have a number of Early Action/Early Decision Deadlines. Keep up the good work by getting your transcript request in on time. If you have not set up your senior appointment here is the link.

Sophomores & Juniors - Summer Residential Governors School: Applications are now open. Applications are due to Mrs. Barnes by 4:00 PM on 12/4 via email. She must have the application and supporting materials at that time. Here are a few notes:
- Do not worry about the principal’s signature. Your counselors will take care of that information.
- Do not worry about testing information. We know students have not been able to take the PSAT this year. We are working through this.
- If you did an audition and have advanced, you need to complete the application and supporting materials by this same deadline.
- Your recommenders must send their evaluation form and LOR directly to Mrs. Barnes. (You should not have access to this information.)

10/25: Virginia School Sampler Event – You need to register for this event. It’s from 3:00 – 5:00 PM and includes 12 public Virginia universities.
11/8: NACAC Virtual College Fair with over 600 colleges represented. This event is 2:00 PM -10:00 PM ET. You can schedule meetings with representative or register for info sessions here.
11/23: Tuscarora High School annual HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities)
Showcase will be from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Registration is coming soon.
