Colleges to think about
Cornell College

Cornell offers the One Course At A Time program:

Anyone who is able to mine their curiosity and truly explore the material at hand will succeed here. One of the best features of One Course At A Time is that it gives you the time and space to truly focus. Students can customize their fields of study.

Cornell College also offers a number of cooperative programs in which you spend three years at Cornell, followed by two years at one of our partner institutions to complete your program.

Seniors: The FAFSA opened on October 1st. Here is the link to start the application. https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

Seniors: This week we will process 1500 transcripts requests to be sent out to colleges. Please remember November and December have a number of Early Action/Early Decision Deadlines. Keep up the good work by getting your transcript request in on time. If you have not set up your senior appointment here is the link.

Sophomores & Juniors - Summer Residential Governors School: Applications are now open. Applications are due to Mrs. Barnes by 4:00 PM on 12/4 via email. She must have the application and supporting materials at that time. Here are a few notes:

  • Do not worry about the principal’s signature. Your counselors will take care of that information.
  • Do not worry about testing information. We know students have not been able to take the PSAT this year. We are working through this.
  • If you did an audition and have advanced, you need to complete the application and supporting materials by this same deadline.
  • Your recommenders must send their evaluation form and LOR directly to Mrs. Barnes. (You should not have access to this information.)
  • My email is mary.barnes@lcps.org.

You can learn more here and applications can be downloaded here.

All Grades: Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition is now accepting applications. You can register your project here.
