Peek at the Week

A Note From the Teacher
I can hardly believe we only have 3 1/2 more days of school! This has been such a wonderful year and I know this class will do great things next year as well! Please remember to have your child come visit me on Meet the Teacher Night because I will miss them so much!
This week we hope to solve the fairy tale mystery and find Baily! I have some end of the year surprises in store for the kids. We are having a beach themed day on Wednesday. Please send a beach towel and stuffed animal for your child to read with. They may also bring a board game.
Please consider the following reading programs shared by Mrs. Jankowski to use over the summer. Creating regular reading habits will help prevent the summer slide.
This list is divided by grade level. Additionally, there is a link at the bottom of the article that explains a variety of free summer reading programs (ex: public library, Barnes & Noble, etc.)

I also received notification that ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee has updated their Summer Reading Lists with new and exciting titles for 2017. The lists are full of book titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer. Four Summer Reading book lists are available for Birth-Preschool, K-2nd, 3rd- 5th and 6th-8th grade students. (ALSC is the Association for Library Service to Children, and they are a division of the American Library Association.)
