Library Books and Kindergarten
Your student will begin checking out books the week of October 26th from our Maple Grove Library. What an exciting time for your kindergartener! Please sit down and read the library book several times with your student during the week. Below I have provided some information to ensure your student cares for their book and returns it every week to the library.
Kindergarten students check out one, paperback book a week. Every kindergarten book has a green “K” sticker on the book cover at the lower left hand corner.
Please find a place at home to keep the book safe from damage by food, liquids, pets and younger children.
Library books are due every week. For a student to check out another book, they must return their book.
Students who are virtual and not in person on their classroom library day, will have an opportunity to visit the library while they are at school.
Please contact the library if the book is damaged for payment options or book replacement.
Don’t forget to visit the Kindergarten page on the MG Library website for links to fun books and activities. https://sites.google.com/boiseschools.org/mrs-gray-library

Strong Families, Strong Students - provides resources to Idaho families to help with their child's learning
Schools and families have been hit hard by COVID-19, causing serious disruption to our students’ education. We want to get the word out about Idaho’s Strong Families, Strong Students grant initiative. Strong Families, Strong Students will provide resources to Idaho families to help with their child’s learning.
The program will launch October 21st, and families can apply at strongfamilies.idaho.gov. Strong Families, Strong Students is funded with $50 million in federal coronavirus relief funds. It enables eligible families to securely access $1,500 per child or up to $3,500 per family credit.
Students and families can be eligible regardless of whether the child attends an Idaho public school, public charter school, private school, parochial school or home school. Awards will be prioritized based on household income level. See below for more information.
