LOOKING AHEAD:
MUST READ
Departmentalization 2019-20
We will do a brief presentation at Tuesday evening's Board Meeting to inform the Board of Education about our plan for departmentalization. Stay tuned for other minor updates in the days and weeks to come.
INTERVIEWS
We are in the midst of demo lessons/committee interviews for the 5th grade position(s). Hopefully, we will have some news to report before the last day of school.
End-of-Year Checklist
Tracy will be distributing the End-of-Year Closing Checklist soon. For those of you who have done this before, you know what kinds of tasks need to be completed, so keep that in mind.
Antidote for End-of-Year Mayhem: LESSON PLANS
Strong lesson plans are one antidote for Spring Fever. Engaging, differentiated activities make kids want to participate, and prevent behaviors that stem from boredom or real or perceived student inadequacies. Please submit paper copies of your lesson plans to Randy or Josh by the end of the day on Mondays.
STUDENT PORTFOLIOS
REMINDER FROM THE MARCH 28 HAWK HAPPENINGS:
As we continue to refine our student portfolio system, please plan to have samples of student writing from each of the units this year (if you haven't given them away already for previous units). Plan to have drafts, published piece, and rubric to be part of the student's portfolio for each unit, as well as the final F&P. We should also plan to send some end-of-unit Math Module Assessments, and maybe the Interim Assessment.

CLASS PLACEMENT 2019-2020
We will endeavor to print out the forms to begin class placement for 4th grade into 5th grade this week. Be thinking about which students in your class should stay together, or be separated from one another, for next year.
