HOLIDAY GIVING FOR FAMILIES IN NEED...
Yessenia Santana, our UNES Family Resource Center Coordinator, is organizing a collection of items for families in need within our UNES school community. If you would like to support the needs of some of our families, please email Yessi at firstname.lastname@example.org. She is currently collecting $25 gift cards and a toy. Please reach out directly to Yessi if you have any questions or need guidance.
WINTER CONCERTS @ UNES
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS
On Tuesday, December 12, UNES will host our grades 1-3 winter concerts and on Friday, January 19, we'll have our grades 4&5 concerts.
The Music Department happily invites you to our Spring Concerts at Upper Nyack Elementary School. The performances will be in the multi-purpose room and will be in person.
We invite two parents / guardians per family to see your children perform. Please have your child dress in black and white if they can. We know you will enjoy the concert and your children will be thrilled to have you in the audience.
Parking for the concert is extremely limited on the school property and in the surrounding areas. Parking in front of the building AFTER MORNING ENTRY is allowed.
Entrance to the concert will be through the cafeteria doors on the right side of the school only. Unfortunately, there is no reserved seating for this concert. We ask that you exit immediately out of the building as soon as the concert is complete so that we can accommodate the next concert to take place. Thank you in advance for your assistance, as we make this wonderful occasion successful.
Parent / Teacher Conferences are Here!!
Friday, December 15 is another Elementary Early Dismissal Day. Students will be released at 11:45am. Parent Teacher Conferences will occur on this afternoon and you should have already received a Google Form Signup directly from your child's teacher. These afternoon sessions (generally from 12:45-3:15pm) will be in person at UNES.
The schedule for dismissal on our half days for P/T Conferences is as follows:
11:30 am - Kindergarten Students
11:35 am - Walkers & Grades 1 - 5
11:40 am - Car Riders Grades K - 5
11:45 am - Bus Riders K - 5
Thank you to Ms. Dellolio, we now have rolling racks for our lost and found jackets that will be placed outside at dismissal each day this and next week. Our lost and found is quickly piling up with items that have not been claimed. If your child is missing an item, please check the lost and found rack at our main entrance at dismissal and also remind your child to check the main hallway where items are waiting to be reclaimed. If your child is very young, consider reaching out to the teacher, or the main office so that someone can accompany them to help them find their items.
Items will be displayed during Parent Teacher Conferences. On Friday, December 15, all items that have not been claimed will be donated to charity.
ATTENDANCE - PLEASE NOTIFY US
Please notify Linda Dellolio at email@example.com or 845-353-7261 if your child is going to be absent.
Please be reminded that if we don't receive any communication from the parents regarding a child's absence, it would technically be considered, and marked as, an illegal absence.
As a final reminder, please know that students missing 10% or more of the total scheduled school days are considered CHRONICALLY ABSENT. We will be reaching out to families with information and to see how we can support your children to make it to school every day. PLEASE CLICK HERE for some excellent resources and research on attendance and its impact on student performance.
