ABOUT ME
Meet Mary Ann Bennett! Mary Ann is a veteran educator of nearly 30 years. Wow! First, she began her teaching career supervising various child care programs, moving into elementary teaching, transitioning into a Montessori elementary teacher, and for the past 17 years has worked as a reading specialist in both CLIU21 and CIU20. Each step has been a wonderful journey, yet Montessori philosophy has become a part of Mary Ann’s world of teaching.
Mary Ann has contributed to her own path by being a freelance writer for the East Penn Press for 6 years writing a column specifically designed for parents on how to help their children become better, stronger thinkers. Her main topic was about metacognition, as learning and the brain are the cornerstone of her teaching as well.
On a personal note, Mary Ann is a certified yoga instructor with over 200 hours of yoga training. She is a dedicated practitioner and practices daily. She is also a certified health consultant and is planning to publish her first book this month intended for parents and teachers on how to optimize their child’s brain fitness in order to be super brains! Wish her luck and best wishes as she turns a golden 50 years old on December 10th! Becoming an author by the age of 50 is her truest life goal and her hugest bucket list item. Check out this video on what turning 50 is all about.
Thank you, Mary Ann, for all you do for NPSS!
