Principal's Message

What a wonderful first trimester we just finished! It has been so fun to have students in the building, tons of new learning taking place, and activities and athletics back in full swing. Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community for everything that is done to help everyone at SHS, we are lucky to be part of the Bowmen family!

As we start on trimester two on Tuesday (Monday is a grading day for teachers and a no-school day for students), please see below for guidance on how to request schedule changes through the counseling center. As always, there are a large number of requests and only so many sections and seats in a class, so we ask for your patience and understanding as our counselors do everything they can to fulfill all of the requests possible. We will not be able to grant all of them, but we will do our best to get close!

Have a great weekend, and Go Bowmen!

Mr. Mitchell

Important Upcoming Dates

12/6 - No School, Teacher Work Day

12/7 - First Day of 2nd Trimester

12/20-1/4 - Winter Break (Note: 1/3 - No School, Teacher Work Day)

Student Schedule Information

Student schedules can be viewed by logging into ParentVue or StudentVue. If you prefer, you can still link directly to ParentVue and StudentVue via the Sherwood High School main page.

There will be very little room for movement or changes. Schedules are subject to change by counselors and administrators until the first day of school. Students who wish to request a schedule change must complete a Schedule Change Request Form.

In order to preserve the integrity of the schedule, schedule changes will only be allowed for the following reasons:

  • Incomplete schedule

  • Inappropriate placement (such as Geometry if a student hasn’t completed Algebra)

  • Errors such as an A and B section during the same trimester or the B section before the A section

Schedule changes will not be made for any of the following reasons:

  • Teacher changes

  • Switching class periods

  • Requesting a different lunch

  • Requests based on involvement in athletics

Schedule request forms can be submitted in the counseling office. Schedule changes cannot be requested by phone or email. Please note that very few schedule change requests will be granted and, if granted.

Sherwood Education Foundation's "Clicking for Kids" Fundraiser

The Sherwood Education Foundation (SEF) was formed to enrich and enhance the quality of education in the Sherwood School District by distributing funds through grants to individual teachers, and by funding programs that support the district’s vision for educational excellence. Because of community support, in the last five years alone SEF has awarded 98 teacher grants totaling over $220,000. Whether it's Sensory Paths, Ozbot Evo Robots, Spanish Fiction Books, a Forensic Microscope, or Drumline Replacement for the High School Marching Band, Sherwood Education Foundation is committed to being there for our teachers and their students.

Like many things this year, Sherwood Education Foundation's annual fundraiser Calling for Kids is going to look a little different. While it's the same great non-profit you know and trust with the same worthy recipients, Calling for Kids is now Clicking for Kids! The Sherwood Education Foundation’s continued success is only made possible with your support! 100 % of your donation goes directly back to funding teacher grants at all grade levels.

Please partner with Sherwood Education Foundation and donate today!
