Principal's Message
Good afternoon and Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a great holiday season and is rested, ready, and refreshed after a long vacation. As we move into January, it is time to think about Semester Exams. Please note that due to three missed days of school due to weather issues, the dates of exams and the start of second semester have been adjusted. More information is included in this Newsletter. As hard it is to believe, we will also begin the scheduling process for the 2020-21 school year towards the end of this month. Please be on the look out for information.If you have a current 8th Grade student, our Incoming 9th Grade Curriculum Night will take place on February 6th an 8th Grade students will visit EHHS on February 7th. We are also in the midst of our Winter Sports season and all of out teams are off to a great start. If you have the opportunity please come out ans support our student athletes.

Mid-Year Exam Schedule and Letter
School Counseling Update
Mrs. Catlin & Ms. Malcolm will be meeting with Junior English classes this week, January 7th & 8th. Individual junior meetings will be automatically scheduled following the English presentations.
Any interested juniors or seniors interested in taking the February 8th ACT needs to sign up at actstudent.org by January 10th.
We hope to see our all of our juniors and their parents for the upcoming Junior Post Secondary Planning Night on January 14th (Snow Date - January 16th) in the Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.!
Second semester is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 27th. Students wishing to make changes to their 2nd semester courses may do so through February 4th.
Athletic Department News
The JV boys basketball team is currently 2-2 on the season. They lost their last game on Monday 12/30 to The Morgan School. They have games this week on Wednesday at Valley Regional and this Thursday at Coginchaug.
The varsity boys basketball team is currently 3-1. They started the season with a 3 game winning streak before losing their last game to The Morgan School. They have games this week on Wednesday at Valley Regional and this Thursday at Coginchaug.
The JV girls basketball team is currently 0-2 on the season. They lost their last game against Old Saybrook. Their next game is this Friday at home vs Coginchaug.
The varsity girls basketball team is currently 5-0 this season. They defeated HK this past Saturday in their last game. They play at home this week on Tuesday vs Valley Regional and on Friday vs Coginchaug.
The cheerleading team opens their competition season this Saturday 1/11 at the Hatter Fest Cheer Competition at Danbury High School.
The boys and girls indoor track teams have competed in two meets thus far this winter including their first Shoreline Conference meet last Thursday 1/2. Their next meet is this Saturday in New Haven.
Our wrestler Dylan Levesque has matches this Wednesday at Granby Memorial HS and this Saturday in the Casey Yates Invitational at Lyman Memorial HS. Dylan is currently undefeated with a record of 12-0.
The varsity hockey co-op is currently team is currently 2-3 this season and they won their most recent game vs Watertown-Pomperaug this past Saturday. They have games this week at North Haven on Thursday and at West Haven on Saturday.
