Book and Clothing Drive
Clothing Drive:
We are trying to get as many donations as we can. Every Item that you might donate would go to different school districts that have children in need. You could go through your house and find any gently used clothes / items or brand new of anything. Would you guys be sad if your kids go out to recess with no jacket or even no socks? Or would you be sad if your children had no toothpaste or toothbrush to brush their teeth? Well myself, you and a couple of friends can change this if you just even donate 1 item. The 6 of us can't do this alone. So we need your help. Donating 1 item can enrich and make a difference in someone's life if we all work together. Please send these items to the Greene School and deposit them in the OBG barrel located in the lobby.
Book Drive:
We are collecting new and gently used books that will be donated to OGB. If you have books that you no longer use or you can buy new ones, please donate to families that can't afford them. There is a book shelf in the main lobby where you can drop them.

Optional CogAT Testing
An optional administration of the CogAT for gifted service will be offered on Friday, December 15, 2017.
Who should take this test?
1) Current 5th grade students who are NOT in Accelerated Math or Advanced Language, but have 2 scores of 95th percentile or higher on their Math or Reading MAP within the last 12 months. These 5th grade students should register for the test and will need to score a 128 on the CogAT for placement into 6th grade Accelerated Math and/or Advanced Language.
2) Current 5th or 6th grade Accelerated Math students who are interested in taking Double Accelerated Math and have 2 scores of 98th percentile or higher on their Math MAP within the last 12 months. These students should register for the test and will need to score a 144 on the CogAT for placement into 6th or 7th grade Double Accelerated Math.
Unless testing for Double Accelerated Math, current accelerated students do NOT need a CogAT score to re-qualify for Advanced Language or Accelerated Math. Nor is the CogAT needed for any junior high placements (with the exception of Double Accelerated Math).
If your child meets the above criteria and you would like to have him/her tested, please click on the link below to register for CogAT Testing by Monday, December 11th.
PBIS at Home- Expectations During the Holiday Season
This time of year can be wonderful and fun, but can also be hectic and chaotic! Reminders about those Aviator Expectations can be helpful. Part of our hope with our PBIS program is that it does extend to the home and to the community. While you are out at social events, holiday shopping and running errands, those Aviator Expectation can help guide your children to appropriate behavior. On the way to the mall, talk about how to be safe. On the way to a relative’s house for a party, talk about the expectations for being respectful. When siblings are playing with all of those new toys and games, talk about how to be a problem solver. Explain to your child that while this is a fun time of year, there are still behavior expectations and rules to follow. You are an Aviator, no matter where you go, and everyone expects you to be safe, be responsible, be respectful and be a problem solver!
