END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR PICK UP DATES

We will have an end of the school year pick-up from Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22. The pick-ups will be done by families, not classes, to make it easier for parents. The time slots will be for a full 30 minutes and only 10 families at a time may be on campus. This should allow parents and their children ample time and space to visit all the classrooms and say bye for the summer while maintaining safe social distancing.

Please do not forget to bring with you any textbooks, Library books, soccer jerseys, and anything else that belongs to the school.

Please keep in mind that if the Grab n' Go lunches are still occurring, the back entrance by El Paso may be in use.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Jags Hunt for the Cure

We know these are trying economic times, but before the COVID 19 Pandemic was upon us, St. Margaret Mary School was asked by a team of Pope John Paul II High School students to support them in their effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They are participating as a team in the 2020 Students of the Year Program, a seven week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fund raising competition to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Their mission is to not only raise the most money but to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

The PJP students have a challenge this week that ends on Thursday. It is to raise the most money for the LLS. Several SMM Alums are on this team – Ethan Abbenante, Abby Cappy, Ashley Mahoney, Joey Estopinal, Bailey Brouillette, Chloe Couvillion, Paige Gaubert, Ari Caruso, Kaitlyn Vidrine, Lincoln Oertling, and Maddy Gonlag - and they are asking you to help.

For SMM students, families, and alumni: If you donate $10 or more to LLS by clicking on the donation link below, at any time between Sunday, May 17 through Thursday, May 21, your name will be placed in a drawing for a Cane’s basket worth $100. You must do two things in order to be eligible:

1. Donate

2. Comment “done, “donated” or place a check mark

The drawing will be held live on Facebook on Friday, May 22d.

Here is the link for donating and to our Jags Hunt for the Cure’s SOY Fundraising Page:

The PJP students thank you in advance for your generosity and prayers. Have a blessed week.

COULD YOU USE A MATH TUTOR RIGHT ABOUT NOW?

SMM parent, Kendra Wadleigh, is available for Math tutoring via Facetime for grades 7 through 10 (Geometry). Kendra has a teaching background in Math.

If interested, you may contact her by phone at (985) 502-1532 or by email at kendraww@charter.net.

Yearbook Update

Our Yearbook may look a little different from previous years, but it will still be full of wonderful pictures of your children. We will offer an opportunity for you to purchase a congratulatory ad or a business ad at a small cost. This information will be sent to you this coming week. Please look for it in an email.

Since copies are limited and school schedules continue to change, we ask that you please order your year- book online as soon as possible. Jostens offers a payment plan at checkout for your purchase if you would like to use that option
