The Trekker Times
September 26, 2022
Principal's Pen
Good morning! I hope you had a relaxing weekend and were able to enjoy time with family and friends. We have a busy week ahead of us! We have our first Family Groups on Thursday. We arrange the students into groups made of various grade levels. Each student remains in the same family group for the year. During family group time we come together as a school family and focus on learning about the virtues and practicing them in our community and around our school. For our first family groups the 8th graders will be teaching everyone about orderliness. Thursday is also a spirit day. Students may wear their trekker t-shirts and jeans.
On Friday we have our first bake sale sponsored by the Parent Association. Each item will be $1.00. All the proceeds go to our PA to support their mission. Thank you to all those parents who have volunteered to bake!
The Catholic calendar is packed this week with the feast days of some amazing saints including St. Vincent De Paul, St. Therese of Liseux, St. Jerome, and St. Wenceslaus. I have posted a story at the bottom of the newsletter about St. Jerome and a lion. I hope you can find the time to listen to it.
Our Caught Being a Christian Award this week is going to Wynn Gordon, one of our kindergarten students. Wynn practiced the virtue of orderliness by organizing her tote without being asked. Great job, Wynn!
God bless,

Apple Week in Kindergarten
The kindergarten had a busy week with activities and learning that revolved around apples. They made applesauce and caramel apples, taste tested many kinds of apples, apple cider, and apple juice. They did crafts, played games, and read books about apples. They also learned about their 5 senses, Johnny Appleseed, and the parts of an apple.
