Brief Pause in 3 Choice Options
This message is for parents who might be having second thoughts about the choice they made for their student.
As you know, here in Pasco we have offered three choices: Traditional, mySchool Online, and Virtual. Nine out of 10 parents have made a choice, and we are busy planning based on the choices you have made. The deadline for choosing among the three options was more than a month ago, and that time we have accommodated since parents who changed their mind.
Next week, after virtual orientation, we are going to take a brief pause in the transfers. The pause will begin on Thursday, August 20. It will end on August 31, after the first week of school. At that time, if you wish to make a change you can request a transfer through your school.
The goal is to take a brief pause so we can be fully prepared for your student on the very first day of school.
Thank you.
In this brief video, Superintendent Browning explains the need for the brief pause. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXPC2A34J_k

Mask Requirement
Our school district requires that all students, staff, and visitors wear masks or face coverings when on a school campus or other school district property in the fall. In this video, Superintendent Browning explains the reasoning behind the decision.
The proposed rule describes what qualifies as a mask or face covering and under what circumstances the mask can be removed. It also describes how the school district will make accommodations for students or staff members who have a medical condition that would prevent them from wearing a mask or face covering.

Free/Reduced lunch
This is an important message from Pasco County Schools, Food and Nutrition Services
The Free and Reduced Meal Application for the 2020-2021 school year is now available online at www.pascoschoolmeals.com. If you are unsure if you qualify, you can also review the income eligibility guidelines on our website.
Please only submit one application per household and include everyone who lives at that address.
The income provided on the application should be your gross income, before any taxes or deductions are taken out. All income for everyone on the application must be included. Income includes earnings from work, unemployment, social security, disability, pension, and any other form of pay you receive.
If you received a letter that one or more of the your students were directly certified for free meals, please do not complete an application. If you did not receive a letter for all of your students, please contact us following the instructions on the letter so that we can extend benefits to the other students.
If you have chosen Option #2, MySchoolOnline, you can still complete an application for your students. We are working on a program to provide meals for parent pickup for MySchoolOnline students. We will provide qualifying families details when they are finalized.
Students choosing Option #3, Florida Virtual School, Pasco eSchool, or Homeschooling are not eligible to receive meal benefits. If there is a student in your home attending one of these schools, please include them at the bottom of the application with other household members and put only students attending brick and mortar schools or MySchoolOnline in the top portion of the application.
If you have questions, please email us at FNS_Finance@pasco.k12.fl.us.
