Tubing
Season's Project
All Are Welcomed!
Do you like being outdoors? Being on the water? Then Tubing is for you! As a professional tuber, I want as many people as possible to come out and enjoy the wonderful experience of tubing and learn some cool techniques while having the time of your life!
Summer Only!
Summer happens in the hemisphere tilted towards the Sun. In order to go tubing the weather and the temperature of the water all need to be perfect, for this to happen, we need to tube in the summer and not the winter. In the summer, we have long hours compared to the winter. In our tubing trip we will start around 9 a.m. and leave around 7 p.m. During these hours, thanks to the Earths tilt we will have long hours of the sun and warm water. We do not want the water to be cold, which is another plus of the tilt! In this picture the sun is facing Earth, showing the northern hemisphere getting more sun in the summer.
Woah!
During the summer, the sun's rays hit the Earth at a steep angle. The light does not spread out as much so it increases the energy. For tubing, the angle needs to be good to keep your balance and keep your tube flat on the ground. We need energy to keep our tubes rolling! For our trip, you need to have experience in tubing. We need people who can keep up and stay on their tube with good balance!
This picture shows the awesome balance this pro tuber has!
Orbital Path
Just like the Earth has a orbital path around the sun, we as tubers have a path as well. When we float down the river, we will tube straight from point a to point b without changing our course. During our float down the river, you'll need to know the path, come see me to see where we will be tubing so you don't go the wrong way and to keep you on track!
This picture shows the sun orbiting around the earth on a fixed path.

Distance
The average distance of the Earth from the sun is about 93 million miles. It provides us with life and a comfortable living. Our float will only be a couple miles but we will have an average distance from the time we begin and when we stop. Make sure you have all day clear for this float because its an all day event! The picture above shows the sun and Earth's distance, for a clear image.
Similar!
Tubing is always going to a summer activity just like the the seasons will always happen. The Earth will always rotate around the sun and the tilt will always change to make the different seasons. That is how they relate. We need to make sure we go tubing at the correct time when the hemisphere is tilted towards the sun! We will be going every weekend until the end of summer so we can get all of the summer hours and heat we can. This picture shows the suns position and where the sun hits during the four seasons.
Difference!
We all know the seasons's are different. The summer happens when the hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, making it hot. While in the winter we aren't tilted toward the sun making it cold. Even though fall and spring are the same and they both lead us to our winter and summer seasons making the difference that during fall it takes us to winter and spring takes us to summer. The difference shows us tubers when we can and when we can't get into the water. We need to make sure we go until the 23rd of September because summer is over and fall begins. That means the tilt is shifting and giving us less sunlight and colder temperatures! This picture shows the water during summer and winter.
