Shout Outs!
Huge Shout Out to our Wellness Team for organizing another exemplary event! Many thanks for the hard work especially of Todd Bauleke, Mandy Kaur, and Naseem Saremi. Such great work happening all around campus with workshops, our outstanding keynote speaker, and of course such a worthy focus. We have had many calls and emails from other schools wanting to model the event, and an effort of this magnitude does not come without hours of planning! We are so proud of you, and the school is better from your hard work.
Thank you to all of the teachers for your support and your hard work making great workshops!
Wellness day a huge hit- bring in the dogs!!
Ladies Water Polo take it to Semi-Finals, and fight hard.
One of many excellent workshops- card-making! Spreading joy

What you didn't know about Karen Jenkins!
Did You Know:
Karen teaches English, Creative Writing, and now French I, and is in her 17th year at Northgate, with 6 years previously at Deer Valley in Antioch (all with Cori Starr!) opening the school.
- She earned her degree from UC Santa Barbara for English literature, Cal State Hayward 8 years later for credential
- If time and money were not an issue, she would love to get into hiking in beautiful (and some far away) place
- The fictional place she would like to visit is Utopia
- The job she would be terrible at is a housekeeper (so sayeth her husband!)
- If it were an Olympic sport, she would have a good chance in medaling for sipping lattes with friends and simultaneous long conversations
- Her money dish for guests is cheesy, slightly browned corn torte
- One thing she is really great at, (but not many people know) is snow skiing
- She has three daughters (15,18,20) & two older stepdaughters who are like her in that they are all genuine, upbeat and caring
- Her favorite part of being a Bronco is working with people who care about students and each other
