NURSERY AND GIRLS
NEWS FROM THE HEADS
Young people are in turn frustrating and inspiring, which I am sure you as parents are fully aware! Over the last couple of weeks the School Council has managed the process by which we select our 3for3 charity. At a full meeting Form Captains gave their form group’s nominations which was then whittled down - some were national charities or had no link with our local area, or indeed were on the verge of closing down, so did not make the shortlist. “Take every chance, drop every fear and always reach for the stars!”
In assembly this morning, I asked the girls: “What have we enjoyed this week?” The list was huge! Reception’s Bug Hunt, Year 1’s Houses and Homes Walk, ISA Hockey, U10A Netball Match vs The Magnets, two Spring Concerts, International Women’s Day plus it was also Career’s Week! Read more >>>
The nursery children have enjoyed the topic on “shapes with curves”, enjoyed their movement sessions using scarves to create circles, used chalk and shaving foam to draw curves and have played with lots of curved objects such as cylinders and spheres, developing their language accordingly. World Book Day: Year 7 Download Day
As part of our celebrations for World Book Day this month, we are inviting Year 7 pupils to bring in a digital device from home on which to download an ebook from the Claires Court digital library collection. This may be a phone, tablet or e-reader - any device the girls would choose on which to read their ebook.
7A Download Day: Monday 13 March
7B Download Day: Tuesday 14 March
The rules for electronic devices in school will still apply. All devices must be handed in to form tutors during morning registration and will be collected by library staff in time for the lesson.
Ebooks are available for loan at all times via the library database, ‘Access-It’ which can be found on the Library Services page on the Claires Court Hub. This ensures access to school Library Services is extended beyond the school day and into the school holidays! Most of these ebooks were purchased with donations by the College PTA.
