Upcoming Information
- Bottles can be brought to school for water
- Drawstring bags can be carried from class-to-class--No backpacks in class.
- Kleenex, wipes, and hand sanitizer should be given to 1st hour teachers

Unit Objective:
8RL1A: Draw conclusions, infer, and analyze by citing the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

Students will start working on Exact Path, a program that is designed to help students who may struggle in certain areas or give enrichment to students who might be ready for more. Below is a link you can click on for resources.
All activities, assignments, and slides will be posted in Google Classroom. Practice Problems (PP) will be due the next day.

Unit 2 ELO:

PHYSICAL SCIENCE
Last week in class students learned about the various forms of energy and how energy is transferred and changes forms. The culminating activity was building a marble roller coaster. Check out the pictures below to see students in the beginning stages of their roller coaster building.
This week in 8th grade science students will be learning about the periodic table. This very short mini unit will get students ready for our next unit on atoms and molecules.
The objectives for the unit on the periodic table are:
* Understand how the periodic table is organized
* Retrieve information from the periodic table
* What an element is
* Model the structure of an atom
* Introduce the term pure substance
Students from Mrs. Shrout's classes received their engineering design assessment back last week. Please ask your child how they did on it.
