Message from Ms. Rivera
Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had a wonderful break. As we step into this second semester, teachers are focused on continuing their high-quality lessons while also meeting each student on their level and pushing them to excel in small group intervention and enrichment. We will do whatever it takes to grow our kids as much as possible, and we need your help, too.
Please remember the importance of reading with your children for at least 20 minutes each day and asking them open ended questions. In math, it is essential for kids to know their math facts, addition/subtraction and multiplication/division depending on their grade level. The more your students read and discuss their learning, the more successful they will be. Click here to access Magnolia ISD's Curriculum Resources for Parents.
In addition, PTO is hard at work planning their next big event, which is International Night on January 21st. To get involved with PTO, send an email to smithptomagnolia@gmail.com. They did an excellent job with the Santa pictures, and the Father-Daughter Dance is just around the corner.

Helpful Reminders
- Doors open at 7:45 and the tardy bell rings at 8:30.
- Cell phones are prohibited in school zones and in the car rider line.
- In car rider line, do not block the back driveway - buses need to easily get in and out.
- If a student is absent, call the school to let us know.
- Excessive tardies and absences can lead to truancy classes and fines.
- Cut-off time for student checkout is 3:00.
I want to give a HUGE thank you to Robert Vargas, a parent of an SES student, for working with the county to get the shoulder repaired and covered. We are hoping for an expansion to Hardin Store Road in the near future.
