We Engage We Educate We Inspire

Hello Stallion Families,

Thank you to all our parents and guardians who were able to come in to meet with the teachers for conferences last week. I know the teachers appreciate the opportunity to share your students' progress with you. If for some reason you were not able to schedule a conference last week, don’t worry. Conferences can be scheduled at any time. Please just contact the teacher to make arrangements.

The Sonoma Ranch PTSO coordinated meals on Thursday and Friday for our staff. It was truly a wonderful gesture and was appreciated by everyone. Thank you to PTSO for organizing the meals and all the wonderful parents who brought food to feed our staff. It was delicious and it makes a huge difference. You all rock!

Water Donation!

Sonoma Ranch was fortunate to receive a wonderful donation. Colt Skinner from Niagara Bottling Company arranged for us to receive an entire pallet of bottled water. This super generous donation will certainly help us out in so many ways. Thank you Mr. Skinner and Niagara Bottling!

Holiday Giving

Each year we try to provide our students and community with the opportunity to help our community directly. Each year we try to help both the Gilbert and surrounding communities as well as those in need within Sonoma Ranch. This year presents additional challenges to so many who have been adversly effected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In upcoming weeks our Student Council will be sponsoring a sock drive. They will collect socks to provide to organizations that help those in need throughout the Valley. We will also continue our tradition of helping those within the Sonoma Ranch community as well. We will be collecting gift cards to donate to identified families who may need help this year, especially for the holidays.

Information will be sent home about both of these opportunities to give. We know there are many opportunities for holiday giving through employers, churches and communities. We also know that schools are always asking for parents’ donations. We at Sonoma Ranch just want to continue our tradition of caring.

PTSO Update

Thank you to all parents who donated food items to help feed our staff and teachers during parent teacher conferences! Also thank you to Ellie Burnett, Cheramy Mayfield, Erica Smith, Kristin Clark, Mimi Murphy and Cherry Johnston for donating their time to help set up, serve and clean up the meals both days!

Thank you to Tim Roan and family for donating breakfast for the teachers for a staff meeting Friday morning. The first Friday of every month a family donates breakfast to the teachers, if you are interested in sponsoring a Friday, please email

Our next spirit night fundraiser is Monday November 9th at the Chik-Fil-A at San Tan from 4:00-8:00 pm. Just mention Sonoma Ranch Elementary for us to receive a portion of your purchase, no flyer necessary! Our spirit night at Handel's raised $312 dollars!

Please click the link below and you will be prompted to either log into your account and then it should ask you to switch your charity to Sonoma Ranch PTSO.

Student Daily Health Assessments

While we know it is another thing to do each morning, please remember to do the daily health assessment with your student(s). Please view the assessment here. It is best to keep them at home if they are showing any symptoms. Students who come to school but then have to be sent home will need to stay home for ten days. Better to be safe and check before they head out the door!

Thank you for reading the Round-Up. I understand that this school year is so much different than anything we have done in the past. If you have questions or need clarification, please reach out to me. Send me an email at and I will be in touch.

Thank you and Be Safe!

Colin M. Kelly,

Lunch (and breakfast) is Free

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended free meals for children 18 years and younger until further notice to help ensure all children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gilbert Public Schools will provide combo meals at no cost to students for breakfast and lunch. A combo meal includes an entree, fruit and/or vegetable and beverage (milk and/or juice).

We certainly encourage our families to take advantage of this opportunity.
