COVID-19 – Sport and Recreation Under the current Government’s Traffic Light Framework
On December 3rd, 2022 the Government announced that the New Zealand COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights system) would come into effect and replace the Alert Level System.
For Netball Manawatu this means that any programmes, services, or competitions with more than 50 people, vaccination passports will be required for everyone (volunteers, staff, players, spectators, umpires, coaches, managers) over 12 years old. Therefore, as we organise teams for next year, please consider that it will be very likely (almost certain) that you will be required to be double vaccinated (and hold a valid Vaccination Pass) to participate and/or spectate in netball in 2022.
While several other regional and national sports organisations have brought in the mandate effective immediately, at Netball Manawatu with no competitions until Mid-February they have the luxury to wait and see what the Government has to say on the 17th of January 2022, before they make any further decisions.
For more details on Sport under the Covid-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) please check out the following documents from Sport New Zealand.
