Math

Student will begin a week long graphing project. This project involves deciding upon a survey question to survey their fellow 3rd graders. They will then use the data they have collected to construct a frequency table, a picto graph, and a bar graph. The students will then compose a paragraph where they will be required to draw conclusions based on their results. They will prepare a presentation for Friday where they will share their graphs and their paragraphs and all of their hard work!

ELAR

Classes will begin novel studies while reviewing character analysis and development, main idea and details, plot diagrams, figurative language and making inferences.

Students will also be using what we have learned in non-fiction to research one of the important heroes from our social studies standards, create a biography and present in a wax museum style setting.

Science

UNIT 15: Life Cycles
Students begin to understand how different species maintain and continue life and how their survival is closely related to the environment. They will explore several life cycles of plants and animals and compare the growth and development that takes place in each. We will also watch the live progression of real LadyBug Larve as it moves through the life cycle stages in our very own class room ladybug domes!

Social Studies

Students will be focusing on inventors, their inventions and their impact on the community and the world at large.
