Ways to beat Depression

How can we stop Depression? People with depressed mood can feel stressed, empty, sad, hopeless, worthless, guilty, insecure and more. They may lose interest in activities that were once pleasurable, have loss of appetite or overeating, and have thoughts about suicide. They tend to get irritable and grumpy easily. I believe we can all overcome depression by following these steps that are listed below.

Maintaining Physical Health

By maintaining your physical health, you will release endorphins which are natural pain and stress fighters, regularly. It helps to regulate your sleep/wake cycle and insures a good night's sleep. You can exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. By that you can get exposure to bright sunlight for 30 minutes everytime you exercise. You can also get your heart rate up to around 120 to 160 beats per minute depending on age and condition. Do avoid wearing sunglasses as exposure must come through your eyes. With this you can be healthy which can help in beating depression

Maintaining Mental Health

Maintaining mental health is vital to breaking out of depression or any other emotional ruts, it also helps feeling of isolation to fade. You have to socialise more and watch your thinking. To socialise more, you can involve yourself more with close friends and family. Go out with them, be it to a movie or to the beach as long as it is interactive. Be sure to talk to them more in person than just online. To watch your thinking, you must be aware of those times you dwell on the negatives in your life and stop them. You can build a positive habit but if you find yourself still thinking negative you must constantly tell yourself to stop it. With this you can improve your mental state and not think negative.

Sleep

Sleeping will distract you from thinking about our problems or prevent you from having night thoughts. You will feel relieved after waking up. To have quality sleep, a tired body and a quiet mind is required. Do avoid drinking caffeinated drinks or alcohol. With this you will have a peaceful mind.
