Notes From the Office
Attention if you drop off your child in the morning
If you are running later and there are no BAS Staff member near the crosswalk, you'll need to park your vehicle and come check-in with the office.
Attention Bus Riders:
Spencer Directory
Note from Dr. Gray
I would like to take a moment to remind everyone that Wednesday, October 2nd is our first “count day” related to our per-pupil funding. This is a very important day for our
school system as 90% of our funding comes from the documented attendance on this
day. Please be sure to make every effort to have your child(ren) attend on this very
important day. However, if they do not feel well or have to be absent, we still have 30
days to count them if we have documentation for their absence on this day.
Thank you for your assistance on this day; it is appreciated.
Reading Essentials for Families
Volunteer Form for Parent Volunteers
If you are planning to volunteer in your child's classroom or attend any field trips this year, you must complete an online background check. Only one form needs to be filled out for the entire district - you do not need to complete a form for each building/event. Forms must be completed by volunteers for each school year and are only valid for one year. Forms must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to any field trip or event to allow for ample processing time and approval.
Here is the link for the Volunteer Form (also posted on our website):

PTO News and Information
Road Runner Run
Welcome to the 8th Annual ROADRUNNER RUN!!! This is the first major event of the school year and WE NEED YOU!!! Please sign up for a slot below and help make this an awesome event for our kids. This is a FAMILY event, so it is okay to bring younger siblings, Grandmas and Grandpas - the more the merrier!!! If all slots are full - please come and join your student and you can run with them or just cheer them on! If you sign up to be a leader for your student's class, your role will be to travel with the class and teacher and aide the teacher in moving the students along from station to station. You will make sure everyone is accounted for and no one gets lost along the way. PLEASE NOTE: This year's Roadrunner Run is a SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS theme. Please feel free to dress up!!!
The Road Runner Run is coming on Friday, October 11. Packets of information and donation sheets and collection envelopes are on their way home. Please read the details about the event and send your donations back as soon as you can. You can also donate online! This is one of our two big fundraisers for the school. We need many volunteers, so please sign up to help if you can. It is a blast! Hope to see you there.

You save over $15 per ticket PLUS Spencer earns $5 from each ticket purchased. Your student can earn fun prizes too. No orders accepted after Oct. 7th so send them in soon! Holiday Gifts with Precious Prints
On Thursday, Oct. 3 and Friday, Oct. 4, Precious Prints will be at Spencer so your child can stay after school to create up to four FLAT ceramic ornaments or magnets for holiday gifts. That afternoon, they will cut out and create their own FLAT clay pieces that will be kiln fired and color glazed by Spencer Mom Emily Alford of Precious Prints. Children will choose the design and color of their creation. The glazed items will be returned to them at school in November.
25% of profits go to the Spencer PTO
Cost: $15 for first item, $12 for each additional item, up to four per child.
THERE ARE STILL WAIT LIST SPOTS OPEN IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
Spencer Clean-Up Day
We are planning a Spencer grounds clean up day for October 5th at 10am. We are planning on a couple hours of general cleanup, but are currently compiling a list of projects/areas that could use some love around the school. The goal of this clean up day (aside from making our school look even more amazing!) is to obtain Disney tickets for this year's Live Auction. If you are free, please sign up using the link below! Sign up every person who will be coming with you to help out (have 3 kids coming, sign them ALL up!) The more people we have signed up, the more Disney tickets we can earn!
Thank you in advance for your support and if you have any suggestions of projects that could be/should be addressed during this even, please let us know!
Popcorn Friday
Grades 1-4 may purchase popcorn for 50 cents at lunch this Friday, 9/27. The money raised is used to help fund the 4th Grade Farewell Party in June. Please support our 4th graders and their families!
