Happy Cyber Monday and Welcome Back!
Hopefully you haven't spent all your money on sales, but if you did, hopefully you got all your holiday shopping out of the way! I didn't get all the shopping done, but thankful for the time to visit family and friends, travel a little, and try to get a little extra sleep (I might have failed on that one). Now Thanksgiving week leftovers are wrapping up, and Christmas cheer is in full swing, even though we still have a week left in November, and we have four weeks until Christmas break!
A few announcements for this week:
- Toiletry Drive is wrapping up this week (toothbrushes, toothpaste, any bathroom items, chapstick, etc)- please send these donations to the office if any more come in
- Bow-Making 101 and Ugly Sweater DIY time is happening next week!
- 70th day of school is Thursday! You are welcome to dress up in 70's groovy gear!
- Lunch Bunch and Friendly Friday are this Friday!
Bow-Making 101 is next Tuesday!
Come to the Learning Lab after school next Tuesday and bring your holiday or birthday ribbons, and learn to make beautiful bows! Karen Boecker will be leading the session, and will walk you step by step how to create fun bows of all sizes, to use in a variety of ways!
Ugly Sweater DIY Session is next Wednesday!
Want to make an Ugly Holiday Sweater to wear for the Ugly Sweater Contest? Do you need inspiration or ideas? Tracey Kettner will be hosting an Ugly Sweater session in the art room next Wednesday, from 4:00-7:00 pm. Come and go as you want, bring your ugly sweater, supplies, and glue gun, and have a great time! Tracey will have some bling to add to your sweaters if you just need a little extra pizzazz! Make a run to the Dollar Tree before Thursday for some affordable and chic holiday decorations to attach to your sweater!
Comet of the Week! Congratulations to Ms. Cara-Lee Sanchez!
Mrs. Deleon has nominated Cara-Lee Sanchez for Comet of the Week. Cara-Lee "has positive interactions with students and staff, and she is working hard to meet the needs of our English Language Learners. Ms. Sanchez goes above and beyond to meet with her daily groups, and she is always kind and helpful." Thank you Ms. Sanchez for being a great example of Chancellor Comet Spirit!
The Comet of the Week earns a jeans pass, snack shack coupon, and the opportunity to nominate the next Comet of the Week! Please go write a note for our COW! Congratulations!
12 Days of Christmas and the Gift of Time!
We will have the 12 Days of Christmas starting 12 days before we get out for Break, but we have one gift that will start early- the gift of TIME! There will be sign-up sheets hanging up at 3:45 today outside Lisa's office, where you can sign up for one hour early leave. You MUST find your own coverage and have that written down. You CAN have someone else sign up for you if you are unable to sign up for yourself. The gift of time will start this Wednesday and run through Thursday before break, so lots of choices! There are a couple of days not available (the Monday of our staff meeting is not available to professional staff, and the last Friday before Break).
Save the Date! Christmas Party!
