Assalamu'alaikum Dear BHA Families.

First quarter has ended too soon, and we are excited to start the second quarter of this school year, alhumdulillah! Look forward to educational field trips, enrichment club activities and competitions, class projects, and parent teacher conferences, among other things.

Please watch for the first quarter report cards coming out soon.

Check out Facebook and Instagram pages, linked at the end, for pictures and videos of student activities!

Parent Teacher Conferences

We are looking forward to meeting the parents this Wednesday and/or Thursday! Hope you were able to schedule conferences with your child's teachers. If a teacher’s slots are full, please feel free to email them and request a conference on another day.

  • Parents are requested to be on time and stay within their time slots to respect other parents' time.

  • If you’re unable to come for a conference, then canceling your slot or emailing the teacher would be appreciated.

  • Wearing a mask is highly encouraged.

  • Please stay home and reschedule the conferences if you are not feeling well.

Bus will run as normal in the morning, and pickup will be at 12:15 from AG campus in the afternoon.

No Hot Lunch on PTC days. Students will have a short snack break on both days.

For parents: Brother Ahmed will be selling Falafel at CC campus on Wednesday and Beef burgers (Zabiha) at AG campus on Thursday, after dismissal.

Big picture

Student Illness and Absences

San Diego area schools are experiencing a large number of student illnesses. It is important for our students to take care of themselves and to help reduce the spreading of illness. Students with the following symptoms should stay home:

  • Headache

  • New or worsening cough

  • Stomach ache

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Feeling tired or lethargic

When feeling well enough, students may request assignments from their teachers. Once they are back in school, they should work with their teachers to catch up. Teachers will be understanding, offering reasonable target goals to finish based on the length of the illness.

Signing-up for AP Exams - Final Deadline

AP classes being taken by many high school students this year include:

  • English Literature

  • Psychology

  • US Government & Politics

  • Calculus AB

  • Computer Science A

  • Computer Science Principles.

  • Physics 1

Orders now need to be finalized. Families are receiving a Google form to confirm the exams they will be taking and calculate the fees. Payments of $97 per exam can be made online through the invoice which will be sent to parents or at the AG office.

Signing-up should be completed by Wednesday, Nov. 9, with payments made or started by Monday, Nov. 14.

Jupiter Grades Calendar for Middle and High School

AG Admin encourages all students and parents to regularly check the Jupiter Ed calendar for upcoming assignments and tests.

What to expect on the calendar?

  • All HW assignments and tests posted.

  • Tests will be posted on the calendar 3 days prior to the testing date.

  • No more than two assessments per day will be assigned.

  • For middle school, no HW except for unfinished school work or tests are assigned for Mondays.

If you have any questions regarding viewing the calendar, please email Ms. Najwan at: najwan.naserelddin@issdweb.org

7th & 8th Grade Immunization Check

An email was sent to 7th and 8th grade parents whose child is missing one or more required shots. Parents need to provide the updated record by November 28, insha’Allah.

Please make an appointment with your child’s doctor or nurse, or you may receive the shot at a pharmacy if your insurance covers it.

Lost & Found (AG Campus)

Parents, please encourage your students to check the Lost & Found bin (which now includes a table!) for jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes. This is in the courtyard for easy access. Parents are also welcome to come into the area and sort through the stack of items at drop-off and dismissal times.

Some items are for very young children, possibly siblings on campus for after-school events, including the Fall Festival. We will not be able to keep all these items much longer.

CC Hot Lunch Update

No hot lunch this week at CC!

Falafel and chicken shawarma as usual, on Tuesday at AG.
