Indian Hills Tiger Launch Reminder
Updates for our 2020-21 School Year
Indian Hills Families,
This is a reminder that Indian Hills Tiger Launch will take place Aug. 17-18, with ESOL/New Families Orientation on Aug. 14. If you have not scheduled a new time to visit the school, we respectfully ask that you select a new time on those dates that will work for your family.
During the Tiger Launch time students and a family member will be able to walk their schedule, pick up pre-ordered school supplies and PE clothes, and handle a few other items that cannot be accomplished online. Please print your schedule or have it up electronically as we will not be handing out schedules when you arrive.
Please read all of the details outlined below to help you and your student prepare for a great year ahead as an Indian Hills student!

Indian Hills to Use Block Scheduling
Indian Hills Junior High will be using a block schedule for the 2020-21 school year. This schedule will help:
- reduce transitions during the day,
- reduce exposure with the number of students during a day,
- lessen the number of classes online students would join each day, and
- follow best practices for online and virtual learning.
Classes that would typically meet every day will be scheduled for full block periods, while classes that would typically meet every other day will meet for half of each block period with a shortened passing period between. For example, a student may start the Period 2 block in math resource, then pass halfway through to P.E. An every day Period 2 class would stay in that class for the whole Period 2 block.
