Pre-K Student, Cheyenne Wells always puts first things first. She has been the line leader and knows all the stopping points and hallway rules. She also listens and follows directions at all times. During center time, she knows what to do and when to do it. Whenever students don't know what to do or how to do something, she is always willing to help. She works hard daily and is a true leader.
1st Grader, Brody Frazier has shown great leadership by coming in ready to learn. He has made tremendous progress in the classroom. He is excellent at reminding students about our procedures throughout the day. Brody has also been very proactive in trying to complete every assignment in class. Get Caught Reading!!
LaCoste Elementary students often go above and beyond! With that in mind, we love to acknowledge when they do. Reading is an important everyday activity. It shows great examples of the Leadership Habits we know are the foundation of our success. We like to “Catch Students Reading”. Examples of that would be; students independently choosing to read as a leisure activity or students achieving a reading goal they had set for themselves, like finishing their first chapter book or reading their first book independently.
In person learners AND remote learners are both included! Simply click and fill out the form below. Each week a name is randomly drawn from those submissions. Their name is displayed on a bulletin board in the library, mentioned in our morning campus announcements and posted in our S’mores newsletter. The student is also given a prize for their accomplishment. Prizes for remote learners will be mailed home.
If you have any questions please email maureen.geurin@mvisd.org.At LaCoste Elementary, our leaders stick together! So “Stay Sharp, and Get Caught Reading!”
Students who read “above and beyond” by choosing to read and surpassing reading goals, can be “Caught Reading” by staff and by family. A winner is selected randomly.
This week’s winner is Addison Hinojosa!
Addison was caught by Mrs. Graff while she was reading after finishing her work.
So “Stay Sharp, and Get Caught Reading!”
