With the help of House of the Harvest, we are setting up our own Greater Goods Pop-Up Shop for disadvantaged students at Buckhorn. JV/VARSITY WINTER GUARD EXHIBITION PERFORMANCE

The JV & Varsity Winter Guard put on a special performance on Saturday, February 13th. JV performed "When I Grow Up..." and Varsity performed "And the Band Played On."
This coming Saturday, February 20th - both BHS Winter Guards and our Indoor Percussion Ensemble will be competing at the "Madtown Indoor Throwdown" @ Bob Jones High School. This is the closest show and the only opportunity to be able to see these groups locally. Tickets will be $8. This is a very family-friendly event both kids and adults really enjoy.

CONGRATULATIONS SCHOLARS' BOWL TEAMS
Congratulations to the BHS Scholars' Team!!! They qualified for the ASCA Regional Tournament and will compete against nine other schools in our region at West Point High School in Cullman on March 5, 2016.
In addition, with four Madison County Tournaments completed, our Varsity and first JV team are the only undefeated teams in the entire county, with the most accumulated points so far! #BuckPride

Congratulations to Lauryn Malone for being selected to participate in Vanderbilt's WAVU program this weekend! Weekend Academy at Vanderbilt University is designed for gifted students in grades 7 through 10 who typically test at the 95th percentile and above on either verbal or nonverbal sections of academic achievement or ability tests. See “Eligibility” section below for more information on how students can qualify. This innovative, overnight academic experience provides qualifying students with a taste of college life. Held for one weekend each spring and fall, WAVU sessions include accelerated courses taught by Vanderbilt faculty and scholars and recreational group activities.

ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
The 2015-2016 Athlete of the Year campaign, powered by Huntsville Hospital Sports Center, TOC Sports and D1 Sports is underway. They are looking for high school senior student athletes who excel on the field, in the classroom and in our community.
From September to April, a panel of judges selects one Athlete of the Week. Applicants must be a high school senior, have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and display a history of athletic and academic accomplishments, as well as community/civic involvement.
All weekly winners are invited to a banquet held in their honor in May, and two students are selected as Athletes of the Year. The two Athletes of the Year each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
To nominate the next Athlete of the Year, you can either:

2. Use these credentials when first prompted:

3. Once you have successfully logged in to this site, use your current INOW user ID and password.
If you do not already have a username and password for the iNow Parent Portal, you must come to the school and present a government issued photo ID to receive one.

Alfa Foundation Scholarship
Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program is taking applications now through April 1. Applicants have to have their own Alabama Farmers Federation Membership (which Ms. Luna can do for them, the cost is $30.00). The application process is online. Alfa gives one hundred scholarships worth $1000 each. Applicants can be high school seniors and post-secondary undergraduates enrolled or planning to enroll in a two or four-year college, university or technical school in Alabama. Your organization invites the public to attend, they provide the treats. Your organization will receive 20% of all yogurt sales to put towards your goal.
