Curriculum Corner:

This week students participated in a science activity related to the Halloween theme. Students became familiar with the concept of the chemical interaction created when you mix vinegar and baking soda (carbon dioxide was released). This resulted in the creation of "expanding balloon ghosts". For more information, as well as student pictures engaged in the science project, check out our facebook page as well as a photo collage below.

In this week's curriculum corner we also have pictures from Ms. Kelly's class working on a combination of fine motor skills and the letter of the week "D". Students used candy corn to create the letter "D".

In Mr. Pin's class students were hard at work with the Social Thinking curriculum. In this lesson they were reading "Thinking Thoughts and Feeling Feelings". Students worked on making connections between what they were thinking and how they were feeling. Staff held up visuals to assist with supporting the concepts being taught. See pictures below in the collage.

****Students continue to do a great job wearing their masks throughout the school day. If students need to take a break from the masks during times other than the scheduled outdoor mask breaks, staff make sure the students are sitting 6 feet or more apart from each other.

Holiday Assistance....

Each year we were able to provide each family with a few holiday gifts for their child as a result of a generous donation from an anonymous donor. The pandemic has impacted the donor's ability to acquire all of the donations this year because many of the businesses he received donations from are no longer in business. As a result, we are going to try our best to support some of the families in need of assistance. If your family needs some assistance this Christmas please contact the school so we can put your family and your child's name on our list.

Masks for sale!!!!

The staff recently purchased Adie gator masks. We are now opening the store so that families can purchase the masks. Each mask costs $6.00. They come in royal blue and are extremely soft and comfortable! We will send home an order form this week. The masks are available in adult or youth sizes. Please let us know if you have any questions. See below for picture of the mask....
