10,000 Pencils District Wide Donation Drive
If you have $1, would you purchase school supplies or shoes for your child to be able to walk to school? This is a dilemma that many parents face in developing countries. By sending unused and gently-used school supplies to schools in these countries, the children are able to get both shoes which their parents then purchase, as well as the school supplies from the donor families and school in St Louis.
10,000 Pencils is a volunteer-run and led 501 (c)3 which aims to assist underprivileged children both in the US as well as internationally with school supplies. In the past 5 years, the organization has been able to send supplies to Zambia, Malawi, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil, and in St Louis, we have partnered with Ritenour School District, St Louis Public School District, YWCA Head Start program and the Urban League Headstart program.
Our program collects the following school supplies: pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils, notebooks and writing paper, crayons, reading books, scissors, glue, and erasers.
With the school supplies we collected in 2021 from 6 schools, we have been able to assist 2,000 learners in Malawi which is our focus country currently.
We appreciate your support!
**WE will be collecting Items at Givens starting next week and continuing through May 25th. You may send items with your child and they will put them in the boxes right outside the front office. We appreciate your support.

Parents:
Research proves that students who read over the summer maintain or even improve their reading skills. In fact, students in grades three and up who read four or five books over the summer can prevent summer reading loss! Talking and writing about books is also highly beneficial. To access book lists, please visit the Webster Groves School District Summer Reads website at https://www.webster.k12.mo.us/domain/3874
Students:
To earn a free book, please read or listen to the number of books listed for your grade level. These books should be at an appropriate level for you. If you read more, that’s great! Just continue to add to the document!
Fill out the form and return it to your
