New Secretary- Lydia Mietzner
We are excited to introduce our newest member of the Blair Oaks Elementary family!
Hello, I am Lydia Mietzner and I am beyond excited to join the Falcon Family as your new Secretary. I look forward to getting to know all of your kids, along with your families. We have 2 kids in the elementary currently. Mariah is in 4th grade, and Micah is in 3rd grade. My husband, Adam, works at Ecowater Systems as Head of Operations. Blair Oaks has done so much for our family and I am excited to return the favor. I am very thankful for the warm welcome I have received and look forward to serving you.
Beginning Monday, January 28 please begin e-mailing transportation changes and other updates to lmietzner@blairoaks.org in addition to jhull@blairoaks.org.
Thank you to the Blair Oaks High School basketball team for joining us last week to talk about what it means to be "HARDWORKING"

Please join us in making this a "souper" success! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Coffee with the Counselor - Tuesday, February 19th
Please join us Tuesday, February 19th, from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm at the Blair Oaks Elementary Cafeteria.
During this next Coffee with the Counselor, we will be collaborating with Sara Peters, manager of SSM Sleep Medicine Clinic, on "Let's talk about Sleep."
Sleep disorders are becoming more prevalent with our children. Over 2/3 of all children have some kind of sleep problem, with a great majority of our children being chronically sleep-deprived. Sleep problems in children are often ignored or easily missed.
Lack of sleep and/or poor quality of sleep can have a major negative impact on a child's behavior, learning, development, and attention short term and long term. Pediatric sleep problems not only affect child health, but they can also impact family dynamics at home. With so many hidden faces of sleep disorders, parents and educators must all be aware and work together to recognize the signs that our children are exhibiting. Early assessment, recognition and treatment is crucial for the success of our children.
Join us to learn about the importance and function of sleep in the developing child, as well as how to recognize how poor quality and quantity of sleep can cause children to have problems with attention, learning, behavior, and development.
