Our Veteran's Day Assembly and Breakfast will be on Friday, November 11th. We have quite a few Veterans coming and we are very excited to honor them.

A Note From Our Nurse, Mrs. Hein
A Few Notes From our Nurse, Mrs. Hein
Please do not send your child to school with any medications. As noted in the AHSD25 Parent Handbook, page 17 - "With the exception of prescribed emergency medication, such as epipens or inhalers, students are never to carry or keep their own medications, including over the counter drugs. If your child needs to carry emergency medication, please contact your school nurse. No medication may be kept in locker, lunches, coats or backpacks."
Now that the weather is changing, we'd like to remind all parents that should your child become sick enough during the school day that they must be sent home you will need to have a plan in place for someone nearby to be able to pick them up. When a child has a fever or has vomited at school we don't want them to have to spend hours sitting in the nurses office. If your emergency contacts are in need of updating, please call Sheila or Kim in the office to do so.
DADS ON RECESS
Our students are LOVING having their dads here for "Dads On Recess" each Friday! Last week, they set up soccer nets, divided the kids into teams and played some really "interesting" games!! The dads got quite the work out too!! We'll be playing more soccer as well as some other games so if you'd be interested in giving up your lunch one Friday afternoon (12:10 - 1:10), please email Mario Bonasera at mario.bonasera9@gmail.com.

CALENDAR FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
Please print this calendar and put it on your fridge!! District 25 and District 214 (the high schools) have different holidays so please be sure to send your child on the appropriate days!
MY BELONGINGS!
Please send a change of clothes along with underwear and socks in a plastic bag to your child's teacher. We do not have a lot of space to keep extras in our nurse's office and you just never know when kids will need a clean shirt or pair of socks!
Please mark all personal items with your child's name. Lunch boxes, water bottles, backpacks, coats, etc. This is for all grades!!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!!
The front office staff MUST be notified if your child is going to be late, leave early or be absent from school. There are two ways to do this:
1. ABSENCE HOT LINE: Available 24 hours a day, 7 days each week!
Dial the main office number 847-398-4275 and Press 1 for attendance
2. ONLINE ABSENCE FORM: Available 24 hours a day, 7 days each week!

BREAKFAST & LUNCH QUESTIONS
Ivy Hill is lucky to have Mrs. Khan and Mrs. Moncada back this year to serve breakfast and lunch to all of our students!
Breakfast will be served at 8:45 each morning - the cost is $1.75. If your child rides the bus, have them come directly to the commons when they arrive at school.
Lunch schedules change each week - beginning on Monday, 8/29, we will be on Schedule B. Click here for the menu. The cost for lunch is $3.25.
The easiest way to pay for breakfast and lunch to set up an account at MyMealTime.com. Call the office for your child's student ID number. You can also send cash. Please put the cash in an envelope with your child's name on it.
Download the Choosi app to help manage your child's account.

COAT, HAT, & MITTEN DRIVE: Clean out your closet for a good cause! Please bring your gently used coats, hats, gloves and scarves to Ivy Hill between November 7-11. POC works with the underserved population in our area.
PACK THE PIGGIES PRIZE!: The prize for this year's Pack the Piggies fundraiser is a "Color Run" for Principal Kaese and Vice Principal Lempke. They will do a lap around the field outside the school and students will get to throw colored powder at them! The run will happen on Monday, November 7 at about 3pm. We are in need of adult volunteers to help setup color cups on Monday afternoon. Please check out the sign up link here if you are available
