Third Grade News
August 28, 2015
2. Reading: We have been discussing how to find the Main Idea and Details of nonfiction texts this week. Also, students should be bringing home their AR graphs for parents to review with them. This graph shows student's progress toward meeting their 1st quarter individual AR goals.
3. Science: Plants
In science we are studying the life cycle of plants. We have also reviewed the different parts of a plant and their functions.
4. Spelling: Third Graders are getting really good at taking their tests on Spelling City and creating their own individual spelling list for the upcoming test this week.
Many students have said that they are really enjoying working with Spelling City at home. Thank you for your support!
5. Word a Day words: The words for this week are scold, considerate, instruct, and canine. Their worksheet should stay in their blue take-home folder, until they complete it, and then it is due by Friday.
Hats on Day for St. Jude Run/Walk
On Friday, Sept 11th, we will have Hat Day here at Labadie to raise money for the St Jude Run/Walk. Ms. Thweatt, our Special Ed. teacher, has a son, Nicholas, who has just been moved to the St Jude Life program earlier this year. Her family is celebrating by participating in the St. Jude Run/Walk. His goal is to raise $1000.
Thank you for your support!
