WRS Intramural Permission Form 2023/24
In order for students to participate, parents will need to complete the online form below. This form will need to be completed for any intramural sport (but once completed, will cover the entire school year), so it would be a good idea to complete and submit even if you think your child may want to participate.
We look forward to getting our programs up and running very soon!
An Intramural Emergency Google Form must be completed by parent before participating.
*Please click on the link above to complete the form.
WRS Clubs and After School Activities
WRS Homework Center will be held in the Sundling Library with staff supervision on Monday's and Wednesday, starting September 6th. Students should attend if they need time to complete assignments or projects, or study for an upcoming quiz or test. This is a time for students to work, and is not designated as a social club, or time to hang out with friends. Students will need to sign in upon arrival, and will be dismissed at the 3:50 pm after school bell. Activity buses are available for those that currently ride a school bus to and from school.
We are currently finalizing all of our other after school clubs for the 23/24 school year. Those that are currently up and running have been shared through our morning announcements and flyers around the school. As we complete the list of clubs and supervisors, we will be sure to share additional information.
WRS Family Assistance
If you are someone who is in need of community resources, please fill out this form. After you have completed and submitted it, one of the social workers will reach out to assist you.
WRS Parent Orientation- 9/7/2023
We hope you and your child have enjoyed a wonderful start to the 2023-2024 school year! In an effort to continue the Sundling tradition of a Connected Learning Community, we invite you to our Parent Orientation on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 6:00 PM. It is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers and hear more about the programs and offerings available to them here at Sundling. Due to limited parking, we recommend that you arrive early and carpool when possible.
Please note that you will have the opportunity to follow your child’s daily learning schedule, and hear from the academic team of teachers regarding team guidelines and plans for the year. You will begin the night in your child’s Period 1 class. In order to assist you with the layout of the building and schedule of events, we have provided a building map and will have dedicated eighth grade Peer Mentors available in the halls to assist you throughout the night. During your child’s scheduled lunch period, please feel free to visit our newly renovated Library or our Cafeteria/Commons for snacks provided by our wonderful Sundling PTA. While in the Cafeteria/Commons, please be sure to sign up and become a member of our PTA, make a direct donation to support our school, or purchase Sundling Spirit Wear. Also, please be sure to visit the WRS PTA Scholastic Book Fair in the Library to purchase great independent reads and more for the new school year.
We look forward to a wonderful evening and a productive year of teaching and learning! #iagdtbap

Sundling PTA Reflections Program
The 23-24 Reflections theme is “I am hopeful because…”
Do you love the arts? Are you good at organizing?
The Sundling PTA is looking for a Reflections chair!
If you are interested, please let me know at aprilweaver78@gmail.com ! It involves creating awareness and excitement about the program and theme this fall, collecting any submissions and submitting them to the council level, and helping with recognizing any Sundling winners!
The PTA Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boosts student confidence. Visual and performing arts naturally align with established Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) goals.
If you have creative children, share the theme with them so they can think about how they might want to participate! Categories are: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature (Writing), Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Entries will be due in early November.

PTA SPARK Program
Next Meeting September 25, 2023, 7-8:30PM
Topic: Is it Sensory or Is it Behavior? Learn how to tell if the source of your child's difficulties is sensory or behavioral - and how to plan accordingly. Meribeth Cassidy, MS OTR/L from Step Forward Therapy in Rolling Meadows will join us again. In this talk she will explain all eight (8) sensory systems, how these sensory systems can impact your child’s behavior and ways to help prevent/help your child with these challenges. There are many causes for behaviors. This meeting will help you understand sensory difficulties your child may be facing and how you can assist them.
Please join the SPARK Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1688046171274344/.) for the most up-to-date information on meeting locations, virtual links and future meetings.
