What Ideas were Hatched at TLA?
Many ideas were culminated at TLA. A training will be taking place July 31st at MHS. Our librarians will be teaching this class entitled Escape the Classroom exploring how to create an escape the room activity for a library or classroom setting.
The librarians are also teaching a training on July 24th at FJH entitled Speed Dating: Secondary Digital Tools. This is inspired by Technology Showcases at TLA.

Setting up laptops and headphones for online testing.
Our library staff was delegated to setup devices several days during the month of April for online testing. Setup was for both SIM testing and STARR testing. Dates include: April 9-11 and April 17 & 18.
Library Field Trip
Guerrilla Gamers & Library Students went on a field trip to Houston Museum of Natural Science. We had such a great time learning and exploring! After touring the different areas of the museum, students viewed the I-Max Dark Universe where Edwin Hubble's theory of the Big Band was explored with supporting evidence. Plus the weather was great for our outdoor picnic!
Travel was fun with this happy group!
The new Antarctica exhibit.
Native American Exhibit

Peer time
We have a very large group of wonderful Library Helpers and Guerrilla Gamers. They are truly great students with big personalities. We wish them the best of luck as they transition to high school! We will miss them very much.
Ellis Island Lesson
Six Grade Classes explore Gale Databases for an example of researching skills
Sixth Grade classes viewed a guided tour of the Gale databases based on the topic -the history of Ellis Island. Images, articles, and a thorough video was displayed so that future research needs may have defined steps to lead to success.

Instead of April Showers- try Baby Shower
All the best to Mrs. Hernandez & her new baby boy! He will be making his debut in June.
Cultural Assembly
We had a fantastic assembly full of culture on April 19th. Our Leading Ladies and Manvel Men were great performers and speakers. They helped introduce the acts. We had a great presence and our students really enjoyed the performances. Well done, Mrs. Walker.
