1st Quarter Conferences

It's time for the 1st Quarter Conferences! Please use the link below to schedule a time to meet about your child's progress so far this year. Digging Into Learning!

Reading- Throughout October students will read various fiction texts. We will analyze characters, determine themes, summarize texts and identify plot elements.

Math- This month as mathematicians, we will be working with all operations to solve problems. We are finishing up addition and subtraction this week, and moving on to multiplication for the next few weeks. We will start division at the end of the month.

Writing- In writing, students will learn to write complete paragraphs in both fiction and nonfiction writing.

Science- Our scientist have discovered many new things about how magnets interact with each other and various materials. We are now beginning to dive into electricity. Over the next few weeks, students will have the opportunity to build several types of circuits, as well as investigate with the concept of static electricity.

Social Studies- Our social studies instruction will focus on geography skills and the various cultures that are represented in North Carolina.
