NEWS FLASH
St Joseph's School Waipukurau 14th December 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia Ora whanau,
A final newsletter for this school year will go out on Friday 16 December. In the interim I have shared specific news related to this week.
Whole school Mass - TODAY!
School Mass: Please be at school by 5:15 for a 5:30 start - I apologise for any confusion.
At St Josephs, we pride ourselves in providing a community environment, which is permeated by the spirit of the Gospel. Together with our parents we share and practise this sense of community in a communion of togetherness during mass. As is tradition in our school, we extend a warm welcome to all our whanau to join together to celebrate our Year 8’s last school mass at St Josephs. We ask that all students/whanau attend this rite of passage blessing today: Wednesday 14 December at 5.30PM. The wearing of our school uniform is required.
Nau mai haere mai whanau!
Prizegiving - TOMORROW
St Josephs School Waipukurau - Prize Giving 2022 - Thursday 15, Dec - 1PM
The Catholic social teaching principle of ‘Promotion of Peace’ - te whakatairanga i te rangimārie - is about peace as the fruit of justice and love. As we acknowledge and celebrate our learners progress and achievements this year, we reflect on the promotion of Peace and how we can continue to spread this good news.
Included in the program will be:
Class awards for: General Excellence, Merit, Diligence, Mana Toa
School awards for: Sports, Leadership, Christian Living, General Excellence, House Cup
Fr Paul Kerridge Scholarship Award
Led by our student leaders, our tamariki will share their Ngati Whai waiata and haka and the afternoon will be permeated by the injection of Christmas Carols and a holiday blessing. We look forward to seeing our whole school extended community in attendance.
Nau mai haere mai whanau katoa.
Special Treat for our Tamariki
Get ready for Santa - Get ready to get wet
Following Prizegiving, students are to return to class to collect their bags and school report. They are then free to go home with parents.
BUT wait! Before you go, you are all welcome to collect a gift that has been prepared for your child from the outdoor assembly area under the shade sail. If your child would like to get wet, there will be a slip and slide hosted by some volunteer parents. Please keep an eye on your child/ren as this is not a teacher led event.
Thank you to Amanda for coordinating this fun last day, end of year final treat for our tamariki.
An End of Year Xmas Blessing newsletter will be shared on Friday.
