Staff Newsletter - Week of 11/12/18
November 11 is a special day for everyone as we celebrate Veteran’s Day. A number of staff members have served or have family members who have served/are serving in the armed forces. We honor the sacrifices our veterans and their family members have made for our country in the name of freedom and democracy. Thank you to each veteran for their bravery, hard work, and dedication to our country.
Have a great week of learning!

New Area IV - Board Member
EJ Blair is a 2009 graduate of Shiloh HS. He holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard and a master's degree from Stanford. He became involved in education, teaching at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, a charter school in Atlanta, and served in the Obama administration as a Policy and Advocacy Fellow at the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for African Americans.
"Teaching and learning is what I'm focused on," Blair said. "We're here to ensure kids graduate and are college ready. I'm excited to learning more about what teachers are doing and how we can support them. As a teacher, I understand how hard it can be."
We look forward to EJ Blair's leadership in Area IV.

Holiday Luncheon
Holiday Luncheon for parents and students – 2 dates: November 28 and 29
- You will receive a schedule that indicates what day your students will eat in the lunchroom. This is the day that the students can invite their families to join them for lunch. Your lunch times will not change. We will split the grade level so that 1/2 eats in the lunchroom one day and the other 1/2 eats in the lunchroom on the second day.
- Please be sure to work with your colleagues to accommodate parents who may have scheduling conflicts. If you need assistance, please see an AP.
- On the day your class is not attending the Holiday Luncheon, the cafeteria staff will deliver lunches to your classrooms.
- Reminder – NO jeans during the Holiday Luncheon
