Kindergarten - Nov. 30-Dec. 4, 2015
F. L. Moffett Primary School
Monday - November 30, 2015
Today, Kindergarten started a new acrostic poem called "Happy Holidays". We heard the book, "Turtle and Snake and the Christmas Tree" written and illustrated by Kate Spohn.
Turtle and Snake have a problem finding a Christmas tree. Also, we tested a board game called "Shelby's Snack Shack Game". First, we learned about what you are trying to do. Next, we learned what it takes to win the game. Finally, we set up and played the game.
It helps with beginning addition and subtraction skills.
Tuesday - December 1, 2015
Check out the December welcome board.
Cookie cutters are on the tables because National Cookie Cutter Week is this month.
Christmas books are appearing in the windows.
We are working on a new acrostic poem, "Happy Holidays". Each Kindergarten class has a
line in the poem. That means we need at least eleven letters in the title of the poem.
Wednesday - Decembr 2, 2015
The Snow Village is beginning to appear in the Library.
Tables are covered in white material which reminds of snow.
Buildings and houses that are part of a town are appearing in the windows, on top of the piano and on the train table.
We are enjoying "Turtle and Snake and the Christmas Tree" as they look for a "perfect" tree.
Thursday - December 3, 2015
Cookie jars are part of the cookie cutter collection.
The cookie cutter collection is growing.
They are organized into different sets.
We are working on a story map for "Turtle and Snake and the Christmas Tree".
Friday - December 4, 2015
The train is now on the train table. Around the train are buildings that go with a village.
In the middle is a mirror which is supposed to be a skating pond for skaters. Over to the side of the pond is a gazebo with a small band.
We are almost finished with our acrostic poem, "Happy Holidays". One more class needs to add a line. We have two extra letters that need a line. Then, we will be finished.
