An Unwanted Dog
I have read your column for years, but I never thought I would be writing to you. I've tried going to meetings of "Women who love too much" but I'm still hurting, so I thought maybe you could help me. My problem is that the guy I love doesn't want to be in the same room with me and now, my best friend's boyfriend loves me! It has driven my friend and I apart, and I'm afraid she'll never forgive me. I just don't see why the guy I love doesn't get it. My friend doesn't love him and never will. He should know how I feel. What should I do? I'll take anything.
Sincerely,

Magic Flower
The magic flower is the start of all of Helena's problems. If she could get Oberon to fix it ...
My advice to An Unwanted Dog
Tara's Love Advice
Thank you for writing! I understand your position perfectly. It's hard to be stuck in the middle, isn't it? Here are some of my solutions, which I hope you find helpful.
You could take the magical route and go to Oberon. He could get his fairy, Puck, to remove the juice from your unwanted lover's eyes and have him put it in your love's eyes. It does fix your problems with your best friend and her man, but the flower could have some side affects. Your crush would love you too much and driven by a fierce longing for you, he might stop eating or sleeping.
A harder choice would be to ignore your love and act uninterested. He might wonder what's wrong and try to talk to you to figure it out. It might take awhile, but maybe he'll start to get to know you better and start liking you. A downside to this would be that he might think you moved on and be happy about it! You might very well get over him: find someone handsome who treats you great, someone who you can trust and who trust you right back.
If you feel like you need more advice, then don't hesitate to write me again. I'm always here to help.
Sincerely,
Tara
