Student Drop Off and Pickup
When picking up and dropping off you student(s), do not park and leave your car on the street from the corner of Birchwood & 140th Ave. to the entrance of the drive thru. This section of the street is designated by the City of Omaha as a No Parking area due to traffic congestion before and after school and you can be ticketed by the police.
The drive thru at the front of our school is for student drop off and pick up only! For safety reasons and to keep the traffic flowing smoothly & quickly.
When dropping student(s) off, please drive forward as far possible before stopping to let you student(s) out of the car. This allows of more cars to pull into the the drive thru.
When picking up, drive forward to the bus loading zone. Please do not pull around vehicles at the curb to get to the front of the line. You may pull around if you are going to a parking spot.
Please Do Not turn into the drive thru exit to get to the parking lot. This can cause backups and is unsafe when students are walking around.
Parking and leaving your car in the drive thru, either AM or PM is not allowed in order to keep traffic moving. If you'd like to walk your student(s) in, you will need to park in the parking lot or along the street (not in the No Parking zone).
140th Ave from Birchwood to Monroe St is a One Way street from 8am to 9am every morning , 3pm-4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday and 1:45pm-2:45pm on Wednesday.
Please remember the speed limit is 20 MPH when children are present, Monday-Friday.
Parent Visits to School District Safety Policy:
We want to remind parents that when you come to school all exterior doors will be locked. Since doors will be locked, the office staff will need to give visitors entry access through the front doors only. For this reason, we ask that you please be prepared to show your identification if requested and state your reason for your visit.
If you need to drop off anything or give a message, the office staff will deliver it to the teacher so that instruction is not interrupted.
Parents are welcome to volunteer in classrooms if they have prearranged the visit with the classroom teacher.
If you plan to visit, volunteer or have lunch with your child, you must come to the office to sign in and receive a visitor/volunteer badge as per the District Safety Procedure Policy.
Thank you for your cooperation in following the District Safety Policy Procedures and in helping us reduce the interruptions to teaching and learning during the school day.
The safety of your child and our staff is of the utmost importance.
Mrs. Joyce Rozelle, Principal
Recess/ P. E.
Recess Safety:
