PTCO Fall Festival

Make sure to come out to our Fall Festival on Saturday, September 14th from 2-6pm! This will be one of our only fundraisers for the school year, so it's a great opportunity to support the school and its PTCO. It's also a great opportunity to bring the community together for games, prizes, and fun! We need a few more volunteers to help make this a success. Please consider signing up to volunteer a short portion of your day:

Free and Reduced Priced Lunches!

Your students may qualify for free or reduced lunch prices! An online application can be found here:

The 4 Elements

The 4 Elements are used to promote positive behavior, pride, and to build a strong school community. Students work hard throughout the year to earn points for their Element and earn the trophy for most points at the end of the year. Wednesdays are Element Wednesdays. ALL students and staff must wear their element t-shirt on Wednesdays. Students will find out their Element and receive their t-shirt by September 18th - the date of our kick-off Pep Rally.

Pattie Essentials

All students are taught the Pattie Essentials. We believe that these behaviors are essential for displaying good character in and out of school. We encourage families to teach and support these essentials with their students at home.

Level Up!

Every classroom at Pattie has a "Level Up" board. Each grade level has customized its levels, but 3 of the levels are school-wide: Blue, Gold, and Legend. Students are able to "level up" when they make progress towards their own, individual goals and/or regularly model the Pattie Essentials. When students "level up", they earn an Element Point. When students reach Blue, Gold, or Legend status, they are awarded with a corresponding dog tag and recognized on the morning announcements. All students who achieve Legend status by the end of the school year will participate in a staff/student kick ball game. Your child's teacher will provide more information on how they are using their Level Up board in their classroom.

Take Home Thursdays at Pattie

To help with consistency and to make it easier for both teachers and parents, any paper-based information will be sent home with students on ONLY on Thursdays this year. Please check your student's backpacks on Thursdays!

Make it Shine Challenge

Everyone is encouraged to "pet" the head of the Panther on their way into the school in an effort to promote Pattie Pride. It has now become a "Make It Shine Challenge"! We want to see how quickly we can make the finish rub off - leaving a bronze shine. All visitors are encouraged to also pet the head and help us Make it Shine! Use the #makeitshinechallenge on Twitter if you post a picture petting the panther!

PWCS' Back To School Guide

In an effort to limit the amount of paper used to send home back to school information with every student, Prince William County Schools has put together a list of important documents and forms online. Check out PWCS' Back to School Guide here:

Family Life Education

It is important for families to be informed of the Family Life Education curriculum that Elementary aged students will be taught, as well as options for opting out of all or parts of this curriculum. More information, including opt-out forms, can be accessed through this link:

Have you ever asked your student what they did in school today only to get a short, uninformative response? Twitter allows a unique opportunity for families to have a daily view into the awesome learning experiences happening throughout the day at Pattie. Twitter is not only an awesome way for us to communicate the variety of learning opportunities that students participate in regularly, but it can also give parents a starting point for engaging their student in conversations about what they're doing in school. Sign up to join and search for #pattiepanthers.
