Meet Maple's Newest Staff Members
Mrs. Natalie Knapp-2nd Grade Teacher Hi! My name is Natalie Knapp and this is my first year teaching. I am so excited to be part of the Hoopeston family! I attended ISU in Bloomington and after graduation worked as a caseworker for 1 year. I then decided to become a teacher and obtained my Masters in Education from University of Phoenix. I live in Watseka with my husband. I enjoy traveling, exercise, and sports! I am so excited for this year and look forward to all the fun that is ahead for us! | Mrs. Tracy Zorns-Library Paraprofessional Hi, my name is Tracy Zorns. I am excited to be working in the Library at Maple after doing in-home daycare for the last 15 years. My husband Eric is a teacher at the High School and we have two boys, Cameron and Ashton. I look forward to fostering a love for reading in the Maple students! | Mrs. Karen Romig-Title 1 Teacher Before coming to work in Title 1 at Maple Grade School this year, Karen Romig worked at the Hoopeston Area Middle School for 8 years as the Reading Interventionist in that building. Prior to obtaining her Master's Degree in Reading Specialty, Karen worked as an ELA teacher at the middle school and high school levels in multiple states. Due to her constant travel with her military husband, she worked in four states at Sylvan Learning Centers. She describes herself as a tutor at heart and loves giving young people the greatest gift they can receive--an education which allows them to have a bright future. Karen currently lives in Danville with her husband and her college-aged daughter. She is proud to call herself a "transplanted Cornjerker". |
