The purpose of the newsletter is to provide resources that are specific to types of social studies content, as well as general instructional tools and resources, and updates and professional development opportunities that are beneficial to all. Curriculum Updates
HB 1244
HB 1244 requires that the U.S. History end-of-course exam include 10 questions randomly selected by TEA from the civics test that is administered as part of the naturalization process administered by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The civics questions included must be aligned with the TEKS for the U.S. History course.
TEA is working to develop information regarding HB 1244 as quickly as possible and when available will post to the TEA website and a notification will be sent through the social studies update bulletin.
