Early Release Days Continue This Year

We will continue with monthly Early Release Days this school year.

What does this mean for families? On the dates listed below, ELEMENTARY students will be dismissed from school at 12:30 P.M. Buses will drop students off at their normal bus stop, approximately two hours earlier than a typical afternoon, and parents who pick their students up at school should make arrangements to do so right at 12:30. There will be no Excel or other after school programming, with the exception of ACES, on these dates. Students who are registered for the ACES after school program will be supervised by school staff from 12:30 - 2:30, and ACES staff will take over at that time. Families whose children don't attend ACES, but still require supervision from 12:30 - 2:30 will be able to sign up for "after-school care" on these dates, similar to how we managed late start childcare. More information on that process will be shared as the September Early Release Day approaches.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

What's Different About Mornings?

Morning recess has returned! Students who aren't eating breakfast at school will have an opportunity to get some morning exercise on the playground before class begins every day, weather permitting. From 7:35 - 7:50 each morning, adult supervision will be provided on the playground. Please do not allow your students to walk to school before 7:35, and do not drop them off at school before 7:35, because there won't be adult supervision before that time.

Students who eat breakfast at school should line up at Door 1 as soon as they arrive. An adult will allow them into the building when it's time for breakfast to be served. (between 7:35-7:40)

Classroom teachers will share more details around our AM procedures when you meet with them at Entrance Conferences.
