Our Why

Preparing for and beginning this school year has been challenging. There were a lot of questions that we just didn’t have answers to, and some we still don’t. But sometimes, in this ever-changing world, we just have to take a leap of faith and get started even if we are uncertain of where we might end up. It’s during these uncertain times when we must continue to focus on our “why”. Even if we have to adjust our “when” and “how” our “why” remains.

Since last spring we have been asking “when”. When will we know what is happening? When will we get direction from the state? When are we going back to school? When will we close again?

It’s also pretty safe to assume that many of us have asked “how”. How is this going to work? How are we going to deliver instruction? How are we going to connect with students? How are we going to help all of our students? How am I going to get everything done?

Even when we’ve questioned the when and how, our why has remained constant - STUDENTS. Helping students learn, grow, and become the best they can be is what drew most of us to education and what keeps us going year after year. Even though many things have changed since last school year, our why has not changed.

As we move forward, the world of education and beyond is going to continue to be complicated and uncertain. There are things we do not have control over, we will be asked to do things we have never experienced before, and there will be answers that we just don’t have. But, if we bring everything we are asked to do back to our “why”, then we will find ways to be successful, because it’s what is best for our students.

Keep the “why” focus as we continue to navigate this new school year together. Control what we can control; adjust, adapt, learn new ways; and continue to strive to do what’s best for our students. They are counting on all of us!

Virtual Alert in PowerSchool Coming

Mr. Knepper is working on a Virtual Alert for PowerSchool. This alert would be an icon similar to student medical alerts so that we can better distinguish virtual students on our lists. Stay tuned for updates.

Students new to the corporation have not yet been able to access CANVAS. Mr. Knepper and Mrs. Hollis are working on this issue. Until the issue is resolved, you will need to email meeting notifications, assignments, and other class information. We will notify you as soon as the issue is resolved.

Pork Burgers

We have approximately 32 boxes of 1/4 lb porkburgers left from the Senior fundraiser this spring and boxes we ordered for the Senior Family Cookout in June that we were unable to have. The cost is $18/box. If you'd like a box (or 3) to help us out, please let me know.

Cougar Cards

Keep them coming! Early, positive communication sets the tone for the rest of the school year.
