Elks Scholarships
2 Scholarships available from the Elks Lodge and are both due on January 15th. Students can drop the completed application off at Deets Home Furniture Store for the Attention of Carol Coolidge.
- Past Exalted Ruler's Scholarship - for any high school senior. Basic emphasis will be on need. Amounts range from $400 - $700 and are awarded to 3 boys and 3 girls across the state.
- JB Ferguson Golf Scholarship - for boys and girls planning to participate in golf in college. $500 grant for one student across the state.
The Omaha Archdisocesan Council of Catholic Women
The OACCW offers an annual scholarship to a female high school senior in the Archdiocese of Omaha in the amount of $500. Please refer to the 1st page of the application for application instructions and requirements. The deadline to submit is January 15th.
RLOP
RLOP is a collaborative partnership between Wayne State College (RLOP), Chadron State College (RLOP), or the University of Nebraska at Kearney (KLOP) and the University of Nebraska College of Law. It is designed to recruit students from rural areas and train them to become lawyers who will return and practice in their communities. Participants receive their bachelor’s degrees at WSC, CSC, or UNK and are then guaranteed admittance to the Nebraska College of Law. Students selected for RLOP/KLOP will receive a full tuition scholarship to WSC, CSC, or UNK for up to 125 credit hours.
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
*A rural Nebraska resident (NHS students qualify as "rural").
*Admitted to Wayne State College, Chadron State College, or the University of Nebraska at Kearney
*Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.5.
*Expected ACT score of 27 or above (Check with individual school on this.)
*Demonstrated strong academic achievement as reflected in the high school transcript.
Applications for RLOP at CSC are due January 16, 2017
NWAGA Founders Scholarship
The Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association will administer four (4) $1000 scholarships in 2018. Those eligible are Female Nebraska High School Seniors who have played high school golf and are furthering their education at a 2-year, 4-year, or technical school in Nebraska.
One scholarship will be awarded to an applicant from Western Nebraska, one from Central Nebraska, and two from Eastern Nebraska. Applicants will be judged primarily on a 500 word essay, explaining how the lessons they have learned through golf have impacted their character and future aspirations. Additional qualifications for the scholarship include strong academic programs, community service and recommendations.

The Union Plus Scholarship Program
The Union Plus Scholarship Program is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation, supported in part by contributions from the provider of the Union Plus Credit Card. (You do not need to be a Union Plus Credit Card holder to apply for this scholarship.) See eligibility in the tab below.
Eligibility
Current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations). At least one year of continuous union membership by the applicant, applicant's spouse or parent (if applicant is a dependent). The one year membership minimum must be satisfied by May 31, 2018.
Evaluation Criteria
This is a competitive scholarship. Applicants are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. The required essays can account for up to half your total score. Scholarship applicants are judged by a committee of impartial post-secondary educators
Application Timeline
Applications are available must be received on or before 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on January 31, 2018. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
Scholarship Award Amounts
Amounts range from $500 to $4,000. These one-time cash awards are for study beginning in the Fall of 2018. Students may re-apply each year.
Acacia Fraternity - UNL
Acacia Fraternity is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for young men who display motivation for personal success, an interest in developing and applying leadership skills, and who plan to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2018-2019. One scholarship is in the amount of $1,000 and the other scholarship is in the amount of $500. Scholarships are not dependent on membership in the Fraternity. Applications must submitted online by January 31st.
Susan T. Buffet Scholarship
The Susan T. Buffett Foundation has offered scholarships to college students in Nebraska for over 50 years. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to first-time, entering freshmen who are residents of Nebraska, graduates of a Nebraska high school with plans to attend a Nebraska public institution, and who have demonstrated financial need. There are a limited number of scholarships, so the Foundation is unable to provide awards to all eligible candidates.

Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers
Seniors that plan on attending an engineering program next year. The following scholarships are offered:
State Annual Scholarship (In-state only): $1,500, Two (2) Available
Northeast Chapter Annual Scholarship (School of your choice): $1,000, One (1) Available
Eastern Chapter Annual Scholarship (In-state only): $1,000, Two (2) Available
Applying for a Chapter Scholarship automatically applies the student for the State Scholarship also. The student must submit their application to the correct chapter scholarship chair where they reside. Norfolk students should send their scholarships to: Attn: JimHackney, 20220 250th Ave., Columbus, NE 68601 by February 1st!
The key requirements are:
- Applicants must plan to attend an engineering program that is accredited by the EngineeringAccreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology(ABET-EAC)
- US Citizen at time of application
- Minimum GPA/SAT/ACT scores listed in application
- List references, activities, financial information and jobs
- Provide an essay
