2022-2023 Media Arts Class

For the 22-23 school year, students will be attending a library media specialist class. In addition to checking out books, exploring new titles, and discovering a love for reading, students will also learn about digital citizenship, online safety, educational technology, and much more! Our classes will explore theater, information literacy, and movie making. We will have a "Makerspace" where students will have the opportunity to explore their own interests, problem solve, and develop creative projects. Examples of makerspace activities include: coding, building robots, and working with a 3-D printer.

Digital Citizenship

In September students learned:

  • how to follow legal and responsible use of online resources
  • online safety and privacy
  • appropriate online behavior
  • ways to identify cyberbullying

Here is a picture of 4th grade student work representing the different ways we can practice online safety. Students in grades 4-5 completed a Digital Footprint poster. Each student provided an example of how we can be responsible digital citizens.
